Introduction

Marvel's VisionQuest made its convention debut at New York Comic Con 2026, turning Studio 525 into an immersive showcase of the android's artistic and emotional journey. The exhibit invited visitors to experience Vision through a series of reinterpreted artworks, sparking discussion about what it means for a machine to seek humanity.

What Happened

At the heart of the experience was a direct reference to Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam, with Vision and Ultron cast as Adam and God. Beyond that central piece, the installation featured Vision depicted in styles echoing Edward Hopper's Nighthawks and Grant Wood's American Gothic, placing the character alongside iconic American imagery. The multimedia presentation combined video, projection, and interactive elements to explore Vision's history, his creators, and the moments that define him.

Why This Matters

VisionQuest arrives ahead of the character's upcoming Disney+ series, offering fans a tangible look at how the story frames his search for identity. By positioning Vision within familiar art historical contexts, the exhibit suggests that his struggle is both uniquely synthetic and universally relatable. The experience also highlights how Marvel is expanding its narrative tools beyond screen-based storytelling.
