Introduction

The Lenovo Legion Go S has emerged as a noteworthy entrant in the handheld gaming segment, particularly for users who want a SteamOS-based device without compromising on specs. This configuration pairs a powerful AMD processor with generous memory and storage configurations that significantly exceed the base Steam Deck OLED, all while maintaining a competitive price point after a recent discount.

What Happened

The device is currently available at Best Buy for $999.99, marking a substantial reduction from its original $1,580 price point. This 37 percent discount makes it one of the most attractive deals on a premium-spec handheld released in 2026. The sale price undercuts many competing models and positions the Legion Go S as a strong contender for gamers upgrading from older hardware.

Why This Matters

Positioned between the base Steam Deck OLED and higher-end models like the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X20, the Legion Go S offers a balanced mix of performance and price. Its SteamOS setup ensures out-of-the-box compatibility with Steam Big Picture mode, while the 120Hz display and upgraded memory configuration address common criticisms of Valve's handheld. For shoppers evaluating portable gaming options before the holiday season, this deal represents a rare opportunity to acquire high-end specs at a mid-range price point.
